It's the year 2014...

and the idea of developing an energy drink for athletes that is practical and functional in a canned drink is born.

Yes, how did you come up with the idea of developing an "energy drink" when there are so many of them?

Many people asked us that, especially the banks start of the enterprise. But we also asked ourselves the question afterwards 😅. It was absolute conviction! Because it's really hard in this industry. Above all, there were many hurdles that we didn't see or didn't want to see at the beginning. But more on that in this series. Now for the idea:

Patric Stielau, founder of fos Drinks

I felt the need myself. I sat in the university during my studies to become an industrial engineer and regularly fell asleep in the university. I was very challenged during this time, because alongside university I trained 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day, in the gym, worked there as a trainer and worked as a freelance DJ and party outfitter with Alex at the weekends.

By the way, here you can see Patric at the first tasting of the fos BCAA drink.

part 2

Patric:

"There was quite a hype about training boosters at the time, which we all tested. Nils was also an absolute booster junkie. But the problem was one deep post-exercise down and that huge caffe load, so I was even more tired after the uni workout than I already was.

Energy drinks that didn't have sugar didn't have any energy either, especially for my brain, which burns a lot of glucose in university. Others had too much sugar and also led to a down with the caffeine. And the brands were also absolutely not for health-conscious athletes in terms of their values and design. I dealt with that in the Uni rather ashamed. The only solution to my problem was to solve it myself!"

part 3

Otherwise I sat at the university with a banana, a coffee and mixed BCAA or protein powder. It all didn't fit together well and looked bad.

So I needed an energy drink that tasted more natural and also contained more natural ingredients. It must not have too much, but also not too little, and above all it should not produce a down afterwards. It would be best if he also made it easier for me not to take my powder or capsules in addition.

That's exactly how we did it and developed a drink that contains the fructose, like in the banana. Not too much, not too little sugar and which, in combination with caffeine from coffee beans, does not leave you feeling down, but has a longer-lasting effect. A fruity lemon/lime taste, additional vitamin C and 4g BCAA. Refreshing as a drink, conveniently packaged in a can and above all with company values and a design that stands for health and sportiness.
